The Division of Technical Resources (DTR), Office of Research Facilities (ORF) is proud to announce that it has been approved as an International Association for Continuing Education & Training (IACET) Accredited Provider.

The application process is lengthy because the organization must submit representative samples of its educational offerings to be reviewed for compliance with the Standard. Authorized Providers (AP) must meet IACET's internationally recognized continuing education and training standard in order to award IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Only those programs that are rigorous and long enough to be of significant educational experience can be included in the IACET-CEU program.

DTR/ORF has worked diligently and aggressively during the last few years to provide technical training at the local and national level that meets IACETS rigorous acceptance criteria.

As an Accredited Provider (AP), DTR/ ORF is able to provide CEU credits when we sponsor important mission critical technical education and training to NIH personnel, technical contractors and professionals in the public sector who are interested in the design and construction of the highly complex and unique biomedical research facilities that NIH builds. For DTR, the ability to provide IACET approved CEUs is very important  in ensuring the credibility of our professional development mandates.

IACET is a non-profit association of education and training organizations and individuals devoted to the constructive and consistent use of the continuing education.  It is accredited by ANSI as a Standards Developing Organization of which the ANSI/IACET 1 2013 Standard shapes the criteria organizations use to develop and implement high quality continuing education and training.

The primary purpose of the CEU is to provide a permanent record of the educational accomplishments of an individual who has completed one or more significant non-credit educational experiences. Awarding the CEU approved by IACET also provides a quality indicator for the continuing education and training programs because it means that we have been reviewed and approved for complying with the internationally recognized standard.

As an Accredited Provider, we maintain a permanent record for each individual to whom IACET -CEUs are awarded, and a transcript of that record must be made available upon request.
